Since 2001, our Water Quality Monitoring Program has been collecting, analyzing and sharing information about the health of rivers in the Upper Deschutes Basin. Our Program coordinates multiple monitoring partners and manages data collected from over 200 stations across eighteen watersheds. This water quality data reflects the chemical, physical, and biological health of our watersheds.
Our Program:
- Analyzes the status of water quality conditions,
- Tracks the trends (changes) in water quality over time,
- Evaluates the effectiveness of restoration projects to improve water quality, and
- Identifies emerging water quality issues that may affect watershed health and/or salmon and trout spawning, rearing, and migration.
By sharing information with local communities and water resources managers, our Program provides scientifically credible information for water resources planning efforts.
