Riverfest

Riverfest is the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council’s annual weeklong celebration of the Deschutes River. Through the resources of multiple partners, we produce a series of events in early May. Each event stands alone as an opportunity for the community to learn about the Deschutes River and the many interesting issues in the watershed.

Taken together, the events combine to recognize that the social, economic and cultural future of our Central Oregon community is linked to the long-term health and viability of our rivers. The Deschutes River defines much of our region’s history and character – it is the primary reason Central Oregon was settled more than 100 years ago and it continues to provide for our economic health, recreation, fish and wildlife, community identity and unparalleled natural beauty.

Riverfest events are developed to help members of our community gain a more in-depth understanding of the Deschutes River. Please join the us and our many basin partners in the coming years by exploring Riverfest’s diversity of community events.

Riverfest 2009 will be here in early May 2009.  Please stay tuned for more details.
